A Question for Max Perry regarding Airports

Post by ahuimanu »

Hello,

I get the impression that you are updating airports by hand. I say this as P3Dv5 is a regression in terms of gate placement while also being a progression in terms of airport layouts. Are you doing these by hand and also using Airport Design Editor to do so?

If this is the case, perhaps you and the team would be willing to adopt an approach taken by Laminar Research with their Scenery Gateway? If you are doing this by hand, then certainly there are more hands out there to help with the process?

I am concerned with the ground the Prepar3d is losing with the emergence of newer platforms and I'd like to see my investment into the Prepar3d ecosystem protected by any means that will maintain and enhance its relevance.

Thank you,

Great ideas, we unfortunately don't use ADE and thus there's no direct pipeline yet for something like a scenery gateway. Gate placement is something we hope we can get better at in the future using better data sources so it's not so manual.
