Here is a screenshot at 10,000FT. I've been expiermenting with FSEarthTiles for quite a while. I really like the current settings that I have for altitudes above 7,000FT (mostly for IFR long distance flights). If anyone is interested in my settings,please let me know. This is a quick post due to my lack of time lately.

Richmond Virginia area at 10,000Ft.

This is the total area that I have created with the settings listed in the following post.

DownloadResolution = 3

MinimumDestinationLOD = 10,16 // This setting gives good quality above 7,000FT and maintains a small file for each "Tile" created by FSEarthTiles.

CompressionQuality = 100

TextureUndistortion = PerfectHighQualityFSPreResampling

If I want to obtain better quality at a lower altitude, I change the DownloadResolution to 1 and the MinimumDestinationLOD to 10,17. I use these settings after I download the above settings first. I personally believe it creates a good transition from a lower altitude to a higher altitude. I have a seperate 1TB HDD that I use for FSEarthTiles so I don't have to worry about memory issues. Once I download an area, I rename each file for example: VA_Richmond_01 and then I cut and paste the file into the Prepar3D, Addon Scenery, Scenery folder.

I hate to rain on your parade but doesn't FS Earth Tiles illegally rip tiled imagery from Google, Yahoo and Bing servers in contravention of the End User License Agreements for each service?

It is only against the EULA if he does not have paid access to the data.

Anyway, calling it illegal to violate an EULA that you have neither signed nor even seen is a far stretch.

The developer of "FS Earth Tiles" should be responsible to make sure his application does not violate anything... or whoever programmed the Google import routines.

Easily corrected by loading the image as a background in ADE and adjusting the rwy to match. Don't assume that every runway in P3D/FSX/FS9 is absolutely correct. I would trust a satellite image before anything that's in the sim. I've done photoreal scenery where the image and the rwy in the sim are as much as a mile from each other. . .I doubt a satellite image is off by that much, but It wouldn't surprise me that the rwy placement in the sim is.
