Re: Mouse click coords

Yes. I think grabbing the 3rd row from the view matrix would probably do the trick. You could grab the pitch and heading of the camera and calculate it. You could also apply a 0 0 1 xyz body relative offset then zero out the pbh of the camera location and calculate the body relative offset from it t...

Re: ATC Window Placement Question?

Yes. You can use the new 3DP entries to add default wordspace size, offset, and orientation to any panel. You can also set the origin from which the offset occurs. For a HMD, you can offset relative to the eye. By default we offset relative to the tracking origin which matches the final camera posit...

Re: Steam Vr & Nvidia Single-Pass

SteamVR tells our app what resolution the headset needs and we create targets that match. You can also enable SSAA in Prepar3D which will have a similar impact on quality and performance because it also relies on rendering at a higher resolutions and down-sampling. We're not using anything Nvidia-sp...

Re: Dark VC

We enabled scaling of the ambient light based on moon phase. You can disable the moon-phase lighting in the Prepar3D.cfg:

MOON_PHASE_LIGHTING=0

Re: V4.4 night environment

We enabled scaling of the ambient light based on moon phase. You can disable the moon-phase lighting in the Prepar3D.cfg: [Graphics] MOON_PHASE_LIGHTING=0 There is a transition point at dawn/dusk where the system starts blending between day and night shading. This is when the night-only emissive tex...

Re: VR zoom in 4.4, HMD recalibrate origin.

Thanks for the detailed report and for confirming with default content. We'll look into it. don't they let you go home at LM? Yes. I'm home now. Just checking in. We have a good deal of flexibility with our work schedules. It's really a great place to work, and I'm not just saying that because we're...

Re: VR zoom in 4.4, HMD recalibrate origin.

We added some logic in that will try and preserve the aspect ratio. For panels that are re-sizable in their normal 2D window form, setting a fixed world-space size would cause them to get distorted. I believe we changed the resize so that non-uniform scaling will resize the underlying window while t...

Re: VR zoom in 4.4, HMD recalibrate origin.

If you move and size at runtime with keyboard and mouse, and save a scenario, the changes should save into the scenario. You could then peek into the scenario xml for the values and edit the panel config. Are they not saving and loading? Is the issue specific that set of aircraft panels, or is it ha...

Re: P3D Shading Issue in VC

You could either turn VC shadows off, or place a dim point light effect in your model. When objects are not directly lit, they get their lighting from ambient lighting. In our standard material, the ambient light color is based on the time of day. As you noted, objects in shadow still have some shad...

You may be using an add-on which doesn't support 4.4 yet. Can you provide more details?

Re: v4.4 running in paralell with v3.4

Yes, they are separate products and can both be installed. The application content and configuration files are all separate and in unique folders, so there shouldn't be any issues with settings from one being applied to the other. It's possible 3rd party add-on installers might detect and install to...

Re: VR zoom in 4.4, HMD recalibrate origin.

Do you have zoom enabled in the vr settings? It's off by default and the settings schema has been modified to include new things like gaze selection. As for the re-calibrate issue, we use the same API calls for re-calibrating the origin, so it's probably not an issue in our app. We got a report like...

Re: V4.4 Autogen Loading Times are horrendous!

One thing we did change is that we now read all the autogen configuration files registered with the add-on system and layer the results so that one add-on doesn't override the rest. In the past, add-on developers had to include all of our default configuration data in their files, since they were al...

Re: P3D Shading Issue in VC

If you have VC shadows on, perhaps they are in shadow. Specular and diffuse light from the sun won't shade surfaces that are in shadow. With the new pbr material you would still pick up some environmental reflection. Try opening the time preview window and using the slider to adjust the time of day....

Re: Mouse click coords

Are you in the VC? We have some other functions for doing a ray cast into the terrain and objects. The pick result will typically only get filled with distance info if you hit something in the VC.
