Re: Future of P3D

Bingo, Jon.

Unfortunately, a lot of people do not get that, or WILL not get that.

Re: NGXu options ini

Is this a P3D file, or does it belong to an add-on?

If it belongs to an add-on, then the question should be directed to the add-on manufacturer's tech support.

Re: P3D v3.4 CTD with no entry in Event Viewer

Ray, Basically L-M can only provide support on their own product - i.e. a plain-vanilla P3D installation. Once you install an add-on, the situation moves into a grey area, where it may not be so clear about who is doing what onto whom, and who therefore is responsible for supporting the customer and...

Re: Frames per second problem

Windows Update has never, ever caused any kind of FPS drop for me.

I think rather that uninstalling the scenery you mentioned didn't remove all the files that it installed, or that the installation may have changed a setting.

Re: Frames per second problem

No problems until last month - what happened then, did you install anything last month?

Re: Frames per second problem

What I would do here is get out the manual for the motherboard, and first of all see if there are any BIOS updates for it.

Once the BIOS is up to the latest level, then see of you can overclock this. On an ASUS motherboard both the BIOS update and the overclocking is fairly easy to do.

Re: Frames per second problem

This usually only happens in laptops.... if this is a laptop then your problem might be right there. This so-called "turbo speed" or "boost speed" is something typically seen in a laptop, and the CPU will only run at that speed until the cooling or electrical limits are reached, then it will turn th...

Re: Frames per second problem

You should overclock the CPU to at least above 4 GHz, preferably above 4.5 GHz and see what that does.

Re: Mouse Pointer in VR

I do not have VR, so I don't know if the cursor actually can be changed there. The only place I know of where you can change the cursor is under Windows itself.

Re: Frames per second problem

We need to know your hardware configuration to see if your hardware could be the cause of your issues.

Until we know at least that, any CPU or GPU load percentages do not matter.

Re: P3D v4.5 autogen problem

The only time I have seen spikes like you describe them, was in FSX, and on a low-powered system which I had then. It was cured by introducing buffers in fsx.cfg. Now, here we first have a fairly high-powered system, and second, as far as I know, there are no buffering parameters for Prepar3D.cfg. I...

Re: CTD, constantly!

You say you uninstalled and then reinstalled P3D. Exactly to which folder did you reinstall P3D?

Now, did you try flights where you previously had CTDs before you installed any of your add-ons?

And, did you then install the add-ons one by one, with a test flight between each?

What does Windows Event Viewer say is the "failing module" at the time of the crash?

Re: FPS Problem

Plus, the CPU should be overclocked to the serious side of 4.5 GHz - at least.
