Re: P3D v4.5 wont launch, CTD immediately, new install d3d9.dll

Thank you Randy! I cannot remember the last time I had a CTD with Prepar3D. I removed KB4515384 as per your earlier post and the issue is resolved. Thanks for the help.

Regards,
Robert

Re: Frame issues in Prepar3D v4.5

With thousands of add-ons and literally hundreds of thousands of possible conflicts how do you believe testing should be done? Just this afternoon I found an FSX add-on that forces 32-bit runtime files on a 64-bit system that wrecks other add-ons. You want the P3D testers to solve this? Many add-on...

Re: TrackIR and P3D v4.4

Have you tried uninstalling/reinstalling the drivers? Follow the installation procedure, it should work.

If that does not resolve the issue give the folks over at Naturalpoint a shout, they should be able to get you started.

Re: P3D crash when trying to set up controller

Hello Adrian,

Your best bet would be to head over to AVSIM, download and read the CTD Guide that is available here:

https://www.avsim.com/files/file/93-avsim-ctd-guide/

It could be any number of things, the guide will help you narrow it down.

Best regards,
Robert

Re: Prepar3D Icon Changes Location on Boot-Up

Thank you, I have an app that saves the desktop location's but the Prepar3D.exe still moves. Microsoft has told me that it is the app that is causing the icon to move.

Thank you.

Prepar3D Icon Changes Location on Boot-Up

Not sure if this occurred after a Win10 update or after I updated to Prepar3D v4.3. The P3D.exe icon on the desktop does not stay in the same location. Each time I boot the PC up it relocates itself to the upper left-hand corner of the desktop. I have stopped moving it altogether. I was on the phone...

Re: P3dv4.3 getting stuck at Generating Scenery Files Index on Startup

I performed an uninstall/reinstall of Client, Content and Scenery but the Client and subsequently Content and Scenery installed into a different directory. Instead of C:\Prepar3D v4 (my default location) it created and installed into C:\Program Files|Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v4. I noticed the error ...

Re: P3dv4.3 getting stuck at Generating Scenery Files Index on Startup

I just started to have the same problem today. The sim ran earlier and I made no changes. Selected "Delete Generated Files" and upon reloading "Generating Scenery file indexes" is stuck at 98% when I say "no" to Enable add-on." Renamed Prepar3D v4 Add-ons folder so the enable function would not kick...

Backup your Prepar3D.cfg then delete it and your shader cache.

Re: Possible Error suneffect.cfg

Need to add that I was helping a fellow fight simmer who reached out regarding the issue of the sun disappearing at times and the fix is to repair the client and content material.

Possible Error suneffect.cfg

My suneffect.cfg (Located in C:\ProgramData\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v4) has one [general] and ten [LensFlare] commands. Interestingly the "MoonCorona" entries start at [Mooncorona.0] whereas "LensFlare" entries start at [LensFlare.1], that's odd for a .cfg wouldn't you say?

Re: LANDING GEAR EXTENDS / RETRACT W/O COMMAND

Have you checked assignments of all controllers in the options menu? You may very well find it is assigned to something other than the button on your JS and yoke.

I have uninstalled KB4041676 and made a few adjustments to Prepar3D options. Things are beginning to run more smoothly.

Re: Is Windows 10 Fall Creators Update to Blame?

I will try re-installing the client and if that does not work I will then uninstall my addons and start fresh with a complete re-install of P4D v4.1.
