Re: Popping/changing mountain mesh

Being a VFR low and slow flyer, I find it immersion-killing, even more as the clip shows the bare-bones version only. Add higher resolution mesh ORBX scenery or Pilot's Ultimate mesh and the effect will be much enhanced.

Re: Popping/changing mountain mesh

Interesting... I don't think I have ever seen this happen... but I use FreeMesh worldwide. Jorgen I think it depends on the style of flying, too. I suppose, pure airliner pilots might never become aware of the issue. On the one hand, you wan't notice mesh popping at FL350. On the other hand, most m...

Re: Popping/changing mountain mesh

This is an age-old issue which Prepar3d inherited from the ESP engine. All simulators based on the ESP/FSX engine share it to a degree. Even Dovetail's FSW sported that "feature". I've been told it's caused by higher resolution meshs being progressively loaded while approaching a certain site. It be...

Re: VR can you use the mouse pointer?

I don't understand this VR cursor thingy at all. I use an Acer WMR headset. After switching to VR I get the "dot" cursor. I can move this either (i) using the mouse, or (ii) chaning gaze direction. This is irritating. Besides, the "dot" cursor is pretty big and ugly. Sometimes the mouse function is ...

Re: Can't access airspace/airports in Western USA

1. How do you do a "full backup of all sim-related files"? It seems to me they are scattered all over the hard drive. 2. Where and what are "all configuration directories"? 3. You mention "the full installer (and only this one, not the individual ones)." Maybe this will become clear when I try to d...

Re: Can't access airspace/airports in Western USA

This may be a coincidence, but I had this very same issue a few days ago, too. I was unable to take off from KSFO, CYVR, KLAX, and other West Coast Airports. Australia and Europe, at least those I tried, in ORBX were fine. I took off fine from Eglin and used the slew mode and as soon as I came close...

RealityXP Popup in Virtual Reality

Hi, did anyone try to get the RealityXP GTN 750 Popup to work in Virtual Reality? I use a WMR ACE AH101, Prepar3d4.5, VR as such works okay. The RealityXP Popup works as well in 2D, but in VR I run into the following issue: I can press buttons, the map display works, and all such. However, the GPS i...

Re: Acer ah101 Windows Mixed Reality

I have been using the ACER AH101 with Prepar3d (using native VR support) from time to time (alternating with a 2D screen). It works, given you installed the required programs named by Daube.

Re: AI Traffic Add-On

Well, I tested AI live traffic, ULT, Traffic Global, AIG, My traffic in the past, and now I think I found at least for me the definitive combo, PSXseeconTraffic combined with FLAI, it's the only combination which gives me instantly the real traffic going on at a given airport, spot on, even if ther...

Re: Insanely Blurry Ground Textures (even after a reinstall)

Hi, in most cases blurries are caused by a too weak or improperly configured CPU (wrong AM etc., HT on/off). However, I ran myself into terrible blurries one day, and the issue was caused by a wrong Anisotropic Filtering setting in the Nvidia Control Panel https://www.avsim.com/forums/topic/550614-b...

Re: RTSS and Ultra Water

Thank you for your kind reply, Now I can understand that its not only me, but since you know about it, do you also know anyway around to fix it?

Best Regards

I tried several ways, but didn't succeed. Seems to be non-trivial.

Re: RTSS and Ultra Water

I would like to use RTSS as well and found the same issue with water set to ultra. If memory serves me right, it's the Triton library causing RTSS not to work. It's not a major bug as the simulator runs as such but the RTSS display can be very helpful at times for finding performance bottlenecks. Ki...

Re: My 3 big wishes for P3D v5

I disagree. Backwards compatibility has been one of the root principles of Prepar3d, and I am sure has much contributed to its success as it brought prominent addon developers on board from day 1. If anyone can prove me conclusively that the file formats are the root of the present Prepar3d issues, ...
