Great work LM team - now that was some great cooperation to find and fix this fast!
Also wanted to call out Simbol who's been doing his darnedest to corral cats on the Avsim forums and get them to post here ;)

Re: My 3 big wishes for P3D v5
Great posts by those above. I would tend to agree with the OP and would support a full break in backward compatibility for the sake of a new engine with significantly improved performance, graphics, and realism settings. Even if it meant that existing addons wouldn't be compatible with V5 (until the...

Re: MORE FPS IMPROVEMENTS
I see on average 60+ FPS with v4, that is with lots of detail and high graphics settings. I would say that's pretty good. Of course, I don't have lots and lots of third-party airports and land class and road vectors and dynamic lights on every AI and etc, etc.. Ed, most folks are running 3rd party ...

Will P3D support GeForce RTX DLSS AA?
Hi All, Very interested to see if P3D will support the new DLSS AA coming out on the new Nvidia RTX cards? Based on this article: https://hothardware.com/news/nvidia-geforce-rtx-2080-performance-and-dlss "What’s interesting about DLSS is that it uses Turing’s Tensor cores to enable a deep learn...

Ultra Water still causes GPU to downclock
Hi All - confirmed that enabling ultra water in 4.1 still causes my Nvidia GPU to change to its P-state (and downclocking the memory speed). This was confirmed again in GPUZ.

... UPD aaand look new Clouds :) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Slx9ISHOkyo&feature=youtu.be This looks incredible. I wonder if parts of it can be licensed / incorporated into P3D. Edit: check out the wave rendering: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QrsRraVUuM0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F...

DirectX 12 integration
Many of the features (asynchronicity, draw call optimization, etc.) look to be custom tailored fur use in a flight sim. Aside from the performance gains, things like volumetric lighting / shading would add a new level of realism to the experience. Here's hoping these are being considered for inclusi...

Re: Performance drop going through clouds
If you're using SGSS AA through Nvidia Inspector, then performance in dense cloud layers will likely be impacted. As you've got a Maxwell based GPU, a suggestion it to try using DSR instead of SGSS AA, as it seems to have much less of a performance impact in clouds. The other option is to spring for...

Re: Ultra water still causes P-state to drop
Yup - certainly an interesting one Boez...
And like you Boez, disabling CUDA through the triton config causes CTDs on my system as well, so I'll try overclocking the P2 memory clock as a temporary workaround. Are you using Nvidia Inspector?

Re: Ultra water still causes P-state to drop
Hi all, been doing a bit more research into this and have some news. Apparently, Nvidia has been intentionally downclocking the memory clock when CUDA is enabled, as it was envisioned for use on high-precision calculations (such as folding@home) in workstation environments. See a response here: http...

Have you tried setting pre-rendered frames to 1 in Nvidia Control panel - that seems to have helped some folks.

Re: Ultra water still causes P-state to drop
Vaughan, to confirm the state drops from P0 to P2 with ultra / CUDA enabled. And Kosta, a few important points to clarify: - The issue does not manifest itself because of throttling or load. Enabling CUDA drops the state to P2 regardless of whether load is 50% or 100%. - The GPU and memory controlle...

Re: Ultra water still causes P-state to drop
Ultra is what triggers Triton and its CUDA libraries (from what I understand) so that makes sense Vaughan - P0 at High without CUDA, and the P2 issue manifests when Ultra is enabled.

Ultra water still causes P-state to drop
Hi folks, just re-confirmed that the ultra water setting with CUDA enabled still causes the P-state to drop - on my GTX980, the memory downclocks from 1750 to 1500Mhz.
This is with v3.1 and the latest Nvidia 361.43 drivers.
