All of my issues appeared to be caused by by recent Windows Updates changing my default sound settings. Monitor with speakers using HDMI connected to my 1080ti which had previously been disabled was re-enabled after the updates. This monitor then became my default sound device instead of my headset....

Thanks Mike. I have 1 monitor that is connect to the HDMI port on my 1080ti. The monitor also has speakers. I changed the settings under windows sound again to ensure that the audio is once again disabled. Got me thinking that I had forgotten to mention in my initial post that I did a Windows Update...

I've had nothing but issues with it for some time now and to me it is totally unusable.
