Re: Anyone tested P3Dv4 with Core i9-7900X

Hopefully I'll have a i9 9900K at 5.5 to 5.8 Ghz around early October and will report back on the results from that CPU vs. my i9 7900X at 5.0 Ghz (HT OFF). I've ordered two 2080Ti that are schedule to arrive around early October also ... not sure I understand how Georgio52 is getting a 2080Ti in 10...

Re: No dyn lights on arrival - any airport

If you have FSDT, make sure to run their Updater externally (P3D not running) ... it needs to be updated for V4.3. Also, FSDT only has two airports that have DL setup ... KCLT and KSDF. Verify you have SODE 1.6.3 installed and registered. DL support will vary by airport vendor, many have been update...

Re: Processor/RAM/Drive for P3D Custom Build

Hi RobsterSF, For what you are planning to work with, I'd recommend you stay with the EVGA SuperNOVA 1600 T2, 80+ TITANIUM 1600W Power Supply ... it provides 24A support for peripherals and you want that for any water cooling (even more so with dual loop). The 1600 T2 also helps with USB power requi...

Re: GPU UP Date 1080 Or 1080TI Plus Physics.

Hi Larry, You might want to wait 4-6 weeks if you can, my understanding is nVidia are going to release their next gen GPU (announce it in June with release to retail in July). Bitcoin scam is starting to fall apart (it's value is dropping like a rock another $400 in one day) which means the desire f...

Re: Cores or CPU speed

I've not seen much benefit beyond 8 cores but it also depends on what add-ons you run and if you run those add-ons from the same FS PC that runs P3D. My 10c/20t 7900X works well at 5Ghz but I disable HT to reduce heat and increase stability and P3D seems to perform better with HT OFF. You can also s...

Re: A 6 hour tour ... and the weather started getting rough ...

Thanks Mike. Your setup is looking fantastic ... but if you decide you want to fly other aircraft and get into smaller airports, you can always build a general purpose PC for that option ... you're never "locked" in, always options. Looks like bitcoin scam is unraveling and GPUs are slowly coming ba...

A 6 hour tour ... and the weather started getting rough ...

Wonderful flight with a bunch of add-ons ... longish for a 310R at 5 hrs 50 mins. Graphics settings maxed out, TEXTURE_SIZE_EXP=10, etc. etc. https://youtu.be/Tknh1vZPVw8 Fill up, then next stop is Seychelles (FSIA) 770nm ... then pushing the fuel margin to Gan/Maldives (VRMG) so stay tuned! Cheers,...

Re: Scenery on NAS with 10 GbE?

For P3D only, 1TB would be enough ... for now. Depends on if Orbx pursue more PhotoReal with their "TrueEarth" series type of projects/scenery (72GB just for Netherlands).

Re: Scenery on NAS with 10 GbE?

What NAS unit are you using that has 10GbE? Also, what protocol are you using and OS? Theoretical speed is 1200 MBs which is not bad but you'll need to RAID SATA6 SSDs and that may still not get you to bandwidth limit on 10GbE. An NVMe SSD M.2 (Samsung Pro 960) can operate at 2100MB/s write and 3500...

A quick jaunt ... skip to the 9:09 min mark if you want to see TrueGlass in action. Skip to 7:38 min for the money shot.
