Ok my bad. I cleared the shader cache and updated a 3rd party utility and everything is good now. Sorry.

P3D V5.1 HF1 Waves Too Big

I recently installed P3D v5.1, going from 5.0 HF2 to 5.1 HF1. Currently I have the water detail turned off because the waves on lakes, rivers, etc are just way too big. Looks like the effect of hurricane force winds on the water. Even on low the waves are too big. Is there anything I can do other th...

Re: CTD when changing aircraft

If you do not understand what I did and the results then I suggest you get someone from LM support on this thread. I originally reported a wrong error and did the test again which showed that the error was not with the GTN Simulator.exe file. And what I just did proves there is an issue with the P3...

Re: CTD when changing aircraft

Since I renamed the original folder and ran the uninstall that removes the references from the registry so as far as the PC is concerned the program is not installed. Then installing the simulator to another drive does a clean install. Before the install I removed the programdata, appdata local and ...

Re: CTD when changing aircraft

OK same result. Installed to another drive and I deleted the v5 folders under program data, appdata local and roaming. Started P3D V5 with the default scenario, once the scenario started changed from the F35 to F22 and got the same NVIDIA popup. Clicked yes to exit and because I click yes there is n...

Re: CTD when changing aircraft

Ok thank you for that. I should have an answer for you shortly. I renamed my v5 directory and then uninstalled v5 and am now installing it to a different drive.

Re: CTD when changing aircraft

I ask to find out if you have any experience with driver issues, programming or are just giving others advise. I agree with the other poster that this is a bug in the software but right now I do not have the time ( the hours to uninstall everything and put it all back in again ). But I will see if I...

Re: CTD when changing aircraft

I am guessing there is no help for my situation. I have had this issue since the very first installation of P3D v5 when it was first released. Yes there have been updates to Windows 10 and I have installed one additional hard drive. Other than that everything is the same as when I first installed P3...

Re: CTD when changing aircraft

Just forget about this. I'll just put up with the issue. My system isn't even 4 years old. I do not have any issues with any of the hundreds of games on my system. I have the new FS2020 and do not have any issues playing that. I will either just put up with this issue or delete v5 and fly v4.5 which...

Re: CTD when changing aircraft

I had my system custom built at a local PC dealer. I7 7700 processor, 32G RAM, Samsung 860 SSD drives, MSI GTX 1080Ti 11G video card, Gigabyte GA-Z270X-Gaming 5 (rev. 1.0) motherboard. Everything is up to date.

Re: CTD when changing aircraft

I can start a flight with any scenario. They all work without any issues. I do not have any issues with anything else in P3D V5 HF2 except if I try to change an aircraft once a scenario has been started. In fact if I start a scenario and then decide to change and try to load a different scenario P3D...

Re: CTD when changing aircraft

Yes I did those steps. I had the same result. It crashes when I try to change aircraft once a scenario has been started.

Re: CTD when changing aircraft

I had the same result. I removed everything from the folders specified in the troubleshooter. Oh by the way your troubleshooter needs to be updated for NVIDIA cards. There is no setting to set Preferred graphics processor to High-performance NVIDIA processor. There is an option for power management ...
