Re: Photoscenery extremely overexposed in 4.4

Can everyone affected, please post post details of your Options->World->Terrain settings (all 4 sliders values and the HD texture checkbox). If you're using the cfg to override the texture exponent please make note of that as well. Does enabling disabling HD textures impact the final texture quality...

Re: P3D::PdkServices::GetMenuService()->AddItem with unknown parent MenuID

I believe you can use ADDON_ITEM_ID. The menu IDs for all the top level items are listed in the MenuService header: #define NO_PARENT 0x0000 #define SCENARIO_ITEM_ID 0x1001 #define VEHICLE_ITEM_ID 0x1002 #define WORLD_ITEM_ID 0x1003 #define OPTIONS_ITEM_ID 0x1004 #define VIEWS_ITEM_ID 0x1005 #define...

Re: RayCast ObjectID return

I don't believe that function supports getting VC getting VC part information. You can get some information via mouse or custom pick requests. As of 4.4, you can get tool tip text from the window using the PDK (ICameraSystemV440::GetToolTipText()). You can also get the pick result from the mouse usi...

Do you get the same result with wide-view-aspect checked or unchecked in UI?

Re: SDK P3Dv4.4 Modeling Tools for Max 2012_x64

It is a limitation of 3DS Max. Directx shaders were limited to DirectX9 in older version of max. Our PBR shader requires DirectX11. We still ship the legacy plugins to support legacy content, but we can't guarantee every new feature works on all versions. Also, for software no longer provided or sup...

Re: Nobody uses three projectors in prepar3d 4.4?

We run Prepar3D on 4 and 6 projector setups in our demo center. We haven't seen this issue in our testing. Can you provide more details on your hardware and software setup?

Also, I renamed your post to clearly state the issue you're having so we can better track it.

Thanks

Re: Addon for people with disability

You could do this in an instrument panel using XML, C++ or Flash/ActionScript. You can also add primitive shapes to any view using the ObjectRenderer PDK service. See the custom object draw sample in the SDK. XML gauge tutorial: http://www.prepar3d.com/SDKv4/sdk/panels_and_user_interface/gauges/xml_...

Re: Mouse click coords

You might be hitting the aircraft itself. I believe you can pass in an object id to exclude it.

Re: Problem with 3rd party aircraft solved in odd way

We version the cached shaders, so you shouldn't get 4.3 shaders trying to load in 4.4. If you had any 3rd party add-ons that modified the sahder source, the compiled shaders might have been in a bad state. It's also possible the compiled shader file could have become corrupt if there is hard drive i...

Re: Mouse click coords

Yes. I think grabbing the 3rd row from the view matrix would probably do the trick. You could grab the pitch and heading of the camera and calculate it. You could also apply a 0 0 1 xyz body relative offset then zero out the pbh of the camera location and calculate the body relative offset from it t...

Re: ATC Window Placement Question?

Yes. You can use the new 3DP entries to add default wordspace size, offset, and orientation to any panel. You can also set the origin from which the offset occurs. For a HMD, you can offset relative to the eye. By default we offset relative to the tracking origin which matches the final camera posit...

Re: Steam Vr & Nvidia Single-Pass

SteamVR tells our app what resolution the headset needs and we create targets that match. You can also enable SSAA in Prepar3D which will have a similar impact on quality and performance because it also relies on rendering at a higher resolutions and down-sampling. We're not using anything Nvidia-sp...

We enabled scaling of the ambient light based on moon phase. You can disable the moon-phase lighting in the Prepar3D.cfg:

Re: V4.4 night environment

We enabled scaling of the ambient light based on moon phase. You can disable the moon-phase lighting in the Prepar3D.cfg: [Graphics] MOON_PHASE_LIGHTING=0 There is a transition point at dawn/dusk where the system starts blending between day and night shading. This is when the night-only emissive tex...
