Re: Bug regarding altitude handling of airports (4.5.12 HF1 => 4.5.13 HF2 Client only)

I testet the tool version 1.1 (it accepts a comma separated list with ICAO ids and airport altitudes). I found the correct airport altitude in makerwys runway.txt (searched for the ICAO id until I found the one of the addon BGL) and created this list for my testing airport. It worked and with the me...

Re: Future of P3D

In my opinion, regarding MSFS, it's a trade off between local processing power (CPU, GPU) and internet speed. The more processing remote in the cloud, the more internet speed is needed. The less internet speed, the more processing locally. And it's not just the plane and the earth, what about flight...

Re: Aircraft sink in ground after update to HF2

I got a similar effect after the HF2 update in combination with FSAerodata navigraph scenere, the reason was the changed airport altitude processing of HF2 as described in https://www.prepar3d.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6312&t=135117 . First, in some of my non stock airports, the aircrafts stood on a...

Re: Bug regarding altitude handling of airports (4.5.12 HF1 => 4.5.13 HF2 Client only)

I understand the correction of the altitude behaviour as it removes the need to overwrite stock airports (meaning: keep addons out of the Prepar3d's own scenery folders), but in my opinion, if such a structural change in BGL processing is made, it should be communicated and an exception should be ma...

Re: Realistic expectations on FPS on high end rig

You have a chip that should easily go to 5 GHz on at least two cores and given you only have air the 4.8 turbo boost might be your limit but CPU clock speed is more important than core count. As stated at anandtech and other internet sources, the 9900K is specified with 95 Watt TDP. If the mainboar...

Re: Bug regarding altitude handling of airports (4.5.12 HF1 => 4.5.13 HF2 Client only)

Excuse my confusion, I mixed up two problem. After spending the whole evening by analyzing the issue, I found the following (if my conclusions are correct): Problem 1: ORBX FTX Central "settings" rearranges the scenery layers giving it consecutive layer numbers - but only for scenery.cfg, not the ad...

Re: Bug regarding altitude handling of airports (4.5.12 HF1 => 4.5.13 HF2 Client only)

What solved my problem with Jetstream LFML by a new installation was the insertion of LFML with a higher priority as fsaerodata by the installer. After moving it downwards below FSAD, the problem came back. As I understand, lifting an airport above FSAD disables the comm/navaid updates of FSAD. In m...

Re: Bug regarding altitude handling of airports (4.5.12 HF1 => 4.5.13 HF2 Client only)

I had a problem with Jetstream's LFML : airport in a hole with ORBX AEC airport in the sky without ORBX AEC What happend ? I updated to HF2, then removed a second LFML installation from my older FSX installation as I decided to say goodbye to FSX. At first, I related the problem to the FSX LFML remo...

Re: Post HF2 - Sim load time issue still apparent

In my opinion, 15 minutes seem to be strange. I own a 4790K without overclocking (HT with affinity_mask=244) and a GTX 1070. Some minutes ago, I loaded an Aerosoft A320 in ORBX Global, OpenLC Europe, Vector, Germany South, Aerosoft EDDS, it needed 2-3 minutes. Tested some other airports with A320, A...

Re: changing motherboard

Deactivate Prepar3D before making any Major Computer changes
It's an uninstallation of the client but your configuration files (prepar3d.cfg, controls) are kept - or better backup them before ;-) Afterwards reinstall the same client package again.

I would give Lorby Addon Organizer a try. It can check your scenery configuration for anomalies.

Re: Ok to use P3d.cfg file when updating client

In addition what I practice since years:
write comments (starting with two slashes // on column 1) about what I have done in my prepar3d.cfg.
So when comparing the renamed older prepar3d.cfg with the new one created by the sim, I know why I changed this and that in the past... ;-)

Voice controls: default phrases with prefix

According to https://www.prepar3d.com/SDKv4/prepar3d/options/controls/using_voice_controls.html , it is not possible to remove the default commands from the command list (VoiceControlPhrases.cfg) as they have no event id. I use voice control to control my ATC communication (open atc window, select o...

Re: Cold and Dark Mode, unless scenario chages it to "started" state

Maybe it needs something like a Prepar3D API or exit point where addon developers could set an entry point to an aircraft routine that's callable for "dark & cold", so the developer could reset all his whistles and bells. That implies a routine made by the aircraft developer. Regarding the manual sh...
