Re: 3 Projector Setup

I agree with Beau. I've got pretty old hardware and can stretch one Virtual Cockpit window across three monitors, on one video card (GTX770), with good results. If Windows can recognize them, you should be able to do it easily enough. I use a fourth monitor (still coming from the 770) for my panel/g...

Re: micro studder

I should've clarified. It's when I've got *two* VCs open (one for forward view, one zoomed in for my panel) that it starts to stutter.

Re: micro studder

Do you have multiple Virtual Cockpit views open, by chance? I have an older computer, with the FSX Cessna installed. (Just copied it over from the old CD to the appropriate P3D folder.) I can span 3 1080p monitors in Virtual Cockpit mode for my forward view. I can also use the 2d panel for my lower ...

Re: Multi PC - Multi Montor advice sought.

Thanks, Bob. I've actually imported the FSX Cessnas into P3d 3.2 (no addons) and it runs very well, even with four monitors. I have an old Core 2 Duo at 3ghz and a GTX770 card running all monitors (a Virtual Cockpit stretched across three out the front and one for a separate Virtual Cockpit zoomed i...

Re: Framerate Numbers VS Perception **OLD CPUsers LOOK HERE**

I installed the old FSX Cessnas (just copied them from the CD and dropped them in appropriate the P3d folder) and they work perfectly. In fact, I would highly recommend it for those VFR flyers with older pcs. I'm running P3d v3.2 With the FSX Virtual Cockpit spanning three HD monitors, in Jamaica (K...

Re: Multi PC - Multi Montor advice sought.

Well, it's all about smoothness for me. I could care less about volumetric whatevers if the thing stutters. Thanks so much for your insight. Off to build the new (additional) machine.

Re: v3.2 Multi-monitor setup performance. Good Job LM!

FatherDane - I don't know if it's exactly 45deg each way, but I've found setting up my three monitors as a single monitor in through Nvidia (5760x1080) gives me a pretty broad view and slightly better performance than leaving them as three monitors in Windows, and stretching a window across in P3D (...

Re: 4 Projectors (Full HD) 7680x1080 on 2GTX780s Sli

Thanks for posting. I was *about* to do the 3 projector setup myself. I am running a "single projector front / lcd sides" setup for the time being, and needed to bring my Optoma 1080 GT short throw projector fairly close to avoid pixels. I still get about a 70" screen without seeing p...

Re: Multi PC - Multi Montor advice sought.

Not my post, (don't mean to hijack) but I'm learning from the great replies! Thanks Matt. You say not to expect to be able to drive more than two tisplays with a single graphics card. Is your suggestion to add another graphics card to a single machine, or add a machine? My desired setup is similar t...

Re: Framerate Numbers VS Perception

I'm using plain ol' "Cockpit" exterior view (as I recall... I'm not at my computer. It's the one with forward views and no panel.) V-Sync is not on. I actually tried that but it makes things worse on my system. I'm going to try to copy over and use the old FSX C172 & its 2d panel until...

Re: Framerate Numbers VS Perception

Not as bad, but definitely makes for a less fluid experience. Framerates still drop 15% or so (vs 20% with the A2A panel).

Framerate Numbers VS Perception

I've got 3, 1080p monitors for my exterior view. I'm running this on my old PC for now, just to do an apples to apples comparison of how P3d runs on the same system VS FSX. When flying WITHOUT Virtual Cockpit, I get 50/60 FPS in the country, 30+ in the city, and it's pretty smooth. WITH VC (a2a cess...
