Re: Reverting to v4.3

NVIDIA: If the frame rate of the simulator drops sharply, the power management of the GPU slows down prematurely. In the NVIDIA Control Panel, change the option 'Manage 3D settings - Power management mode' to 'Adaptive'.

Re: Simconnect not working v4.5

The old 32-bit SimConnect also requires the old Visual C++ runtime components. If you install the FSTramp addon, SimConnect (FSX SP2) and runtime components will also be installed. Uninstalling FSTramp will leave these components on the computer. Maybe worth a try?

Re: Cloud Shadows in P3Dv4 - the biggest FPS Killer !!!!

Excuse me if I come now with the harsh reality. No developer at LM can be interested in problems of version 4.4. When a new version appears, the old ones are dead as if they had never existed. So it's useless to write about it, only one who has used the current version has one vote.

Re: Prepar3d 4.5 Update fails to display Scenario screen.

Apparently affected are the owners of older CPUs without AVX2 instruction set extension. The VR software requires AVX2 and if the VR module is to be loaded, that does not work.

P3D v4.5 does not start

Before, I had v4.4. This was completely uninstalled, installation folder and all data folders manually deleted. After that, v4.5 installed as administrator (MD5 of the zip file is correct). P3D starts, creates the scene index/database, creates 11 shaders, then the startup image disappears and P3D ha...

SimConnect only for the old world and their children

It is an incomprehensible restriction that SimConnect transmitted file paths work only with the exclusive use of the Latin character set. P3D4 easily loads flight plan files with names in Malay or Russian script, but SimConnect only communicates this information to interested add-ons as a chain of q...

To LM: Proposal SimConnect + UTF-8, please confirm as read

SimConnect handles file paths so far in 8-bit coding, local character sets other than Latin are not supported. I suggest passing file paths as UTF-8 in the future. This supports Asian languages, but backward compatibility is still preserved. Since add-on developers use the SimConnect.lib version 4.0...

Re: Dll Gauge SimConnect Version Error

64-bit DLL add-ons do not use the old simconnect.dll's. You need to link your DLL with the SimConnect.lib (SimConnectDebug.lib) library of the v4 SDK. This library statically contains the functions of the old simconnect.dll.

Re: Virtual Cockpit Only - Doesn't load correct terrain elevation

I can confirm that and complete it. If you save the default scenario with Virtual Cockpit only, the aircraft is completely white internally and externally after restarting the P3D4. No texture available.

Re: Blacklisted DLLs

Maybe you will find an answer from the developers of X-Plane. Here is an article that perhaps describes this problem and a solution. It starts with the headline "My Plugin Won't Reload". What do you think about?

Re: Autogen xml file, utf-8 or utf-16?

Assume all xml and cfg (text) files are utf16 in P3Dv4.
You can not say that generalised. The different dll.xml are just Windows-1252 without BOM.

v4.1 client "metric" bug

If the "Units of measure -> Metric" option is activated, the Cruising Altitude is displayed incorrectly in the Flight Planner. 1. The conversion from feet to meters is incorrect. Feed is converted twice. 2. The unit is still displayed in feet. 3. In the "NavLog", all metric altitude values are incor...

Re: Prepar3Dv4 scenery.cfg for the reading problem

Previously, the Scenery.cfg was a text file with a normal 8 bit character set. Since v4 it is a text file with 16 bit character set. This can not read older unprepared applications.
