Re: Is it okay now to install V4.5
No. It has serious performance and stability issues. I would advise you to wait for the hotfix.

Re: Prepar3D v4.5 terrain engine
more aligned to the high res scenery and complex aircraft we use these days. I totally agree, the terrain pipeline was never really designed for the level of detail these new products are pumping out. The move to 64bit has opened the door to pushing evermore detail and the terrain engine isn't quit...

Prepar3D v4.5 terrain engine
I wondered if anyone from LM could confirm whether the terrain/autogen engine has been modified in v4.5? Although I have a very smoothly running powerful machine and sim, after a >1hr flight across europe (Orbx, Active Sky yes) both terrain & autogen no longer continue to load in. I have tried r...

Re: My 3 big wishes for P3D v5
I am currently an avid vatsim pilot flying in VR and consider my PC to be in the mid high range end (i7 4790 / GTX1070). I upgraded from GTX 980TI / I7-4790K to RTX 2080TI / I9-9900K and the difference was massive, the CPU is still the major bottleneck so you will see a big jump in FPS with an I9.

Re: My 3 big wishes for P3D v5
I thought I would share my thoughts here too. Having just attempted to build the fastest Prepar3D sim possible I have been taken to the edge of what the engine can do. I think this reveals some of its limitations (and amazing strengths). Here are some of the things I would like the dev team to take ...

Re: HDR doesnt work in Fullscreen
Thanks I can confirm this has stopped happening now. I recently updated to the latest NVidia driver and changed to Unlimited / Fast Sync
This has happened in other applications too so it would seem likely to be NVidia related, FarCry 5 for example.
Thanks,
Tom

Re: Autogen Delayed Loading
I was a long time user of v3 and I have just purchased v4.4. I am using Orbx UK. This is a very fast pc and everything runs at 25-50fps but Autogen appears way worse than it used to be in v3, if my memory serves me. Here is an example, if I fly out of the area I am in (say liverpool) the autogen ref...

[RESOLVED] HDR doesnt work in Fullscreen
I have 4.4 running on a 2080 series NVidia card with the latest drivers, running Windows 10. The OS is set to HDR (PQ) mode and I am connected to a HDR compatible TV via HDMI. I am set to RGB / Full and all other games work great in HDR. Forza 4 is amazing btw! But Prepar3D can only run HDR when win...

Re: Prepar3D 3.4 corrupt install
The answer was to go in and Uninstall the client and then reinstall.
All my scenery is screwed up but I expected that, the price for using Orbx

[RESOLVED] Prepar3D 3.4 corrupt install
I installed the 3.4 update on 3.x (not sure) and everything worked, installer said success. I run the exe and I get This app cannot run on your computer. Please contact the software publisher. When I look at the exe it is 0bytes. I do not want to uninstall and reinstall and lose all my settings, sce...

Re: Shimmering
I have been trying to fix this as it is very poorly optimised in Prepar3d, worse than FSX. The best image quality I can get is using NVidia 4x DSR with 33% Softness / NO FXAA / NO MSAA / Trilinear or 2x Anisotropic This effectively bypasses the poor AA settings in Prepar3d and uses the DSR softness ...

<t>Please can you add a way to re-connect the controller without restarting the application. <br/> <br/> I know you really don't want to open up this very old part of the codebase but honestly it is incredibly annoying.
